 Continuing our series of weekly summaries of startup news in English, here are some highlights from last week: -Well known expert in digital innovation Luli Radfahrer (who is a professor, critic, and consultant at the center of Brazilian digital trends since the 1990s) has released a new book, Enciclopédia da Nuvem. The title means “The Cloud Encyclopedia” and the book is described as a guide to 100 opportunities and 550 online tools that can be used to inspire and expand ones business.

Continuing our series of weekly summaries of startup news in English, here are some highlights from last week: -Riverwood Capital, a US-based global investment group, has announced a plan to invest BR$100 million over the next three years. This includes their recent partial acquisitions of Brazilian startup Mandic which is now merged with their previously acquired business Tecla Internet. The merged business will use the name Mandic. The purpose is to create a leading cloud computing solution in the software/infrastructure as a service segment.  Riverwood Capital has regional offices in São Paulo. Full post in Portuguese.

O evento organizado por Tiago Asevedo no lounge superior do Cafe del Mar, em Copacabana, estava lotado de empreendedores e investidores. Um videografista e um fotógrafo profissionais deram uma geral no local, entrevistando os participantes, e um DJ fez um fundo musical. Mas, apesar dos confortáveis assentos no bar, ninguém estava descansando e aproveitando os drinks e lanches: todo mundo estava circulando, conhecendo pessoas, conversando.
