Yesterday in downtown São Paulo I came across this interesting scene. About 25 people were gathered around a guy who was speaking in a microphone and writing on a whiteboard.
The subject: math! The method: evangelizing along the lines of “who can do this right here and now?” The objective: selling math class videos. An interesting case of customer development!
But who’s interested in math classes? Especially right downtown? Your fooling yourself if you think math has nothing to do with the day-to-day work of many professionals. It’s exactly this barrier that professor William Barbosa is trying to bring down with his Simple Math product. Read more…

I spoke to Marcelo Macedo, who used to work at Morgan Stanley before joining up with Paulo Humberg (investor in BrandsClub, founder of ShopTime, Lokau) and João Ramirez (founder of Migux) to get involved with ClickOn.
The three Brazilians have had the support of two Germans: Klaus Hommels (who has spent time at AOL Germany, BenchMark Capital, and has invested in Facebook, Skype, and BrandsClub) and Oliver Jung (investor in BrandsClub, Brands4Friends, FashionFriends and KupiVIP). Read more…

The new mobile application Pé2, launched by Marco Vanossi, uses image recognition to allow the user to point the cell phone at an object and find out more about it. Have we just taken another step towards a digitally augmented society?
“Pé2 developed an algorithm capable of recognizing an object among thousands of images in fractions of a second. Our technology makes it possible to identify objects in photographs taken with the mobile phone camera, for example,” explains Vanossi on the app website. Read more…
