A few weeks ago there was a flurry of hype in Brazil over the launch of a new Orkut invitation-only interface (Orkut being Google’s social network, recently made available for mobile via Android). Argentine social network Sonico just launched a Brazilian interface (their biggest user base is in Brazil), and an iPhone app and announced the placement of a country manager in São Paulo to take care of operations for this expansion. Sonico (”the social network that organizes people’s online life”) will open its first office outside Argentina in the second half of November.
The location they selected is São Paulo, and the Country Manager for Brazil will be Alexander de Freitas. The company announced improvements for the Brazilian version that will be released.
With over 20 years industry experience, Alexandre established his definitive links with the Internet 12 years ago. Since 2006 he has been CEO of HowStuffWorks Brazil, a Portuguese version of the North American site of the same name, which belongs to Discovery Communications (learn more). Read more…
