Remember Netweaving for Innovation’s trip in which TeiaMG representative Juliana Lima went to Silicon Valley? One of the fruits of this trip came from a conversation she had with the decision makers at Ning.com (a tool for social networks that supports OpenSocial).
Juliana told them about the trends in Brazil, and they decided to offer a Ning Developer Challenge in Brazil. Read more…

Indica is a relationship network specifically for job listings. It has something in common with sites like LinkedIn and professional Human Resources services like CathOnline, but it is service of a type I had not seen before, launched by an exemplary startup.
The entrepreneurs did their homework well, defining a product, a business model and a strategy before approaching investors. They proceeded to support and launch the network. Are you familiar with it? I tried the service and spoke with the CEO about the project. Read more…

He is 25 years old, with a casual manner and enormous success: the idea he had turned into one of the most-used web services in the world, and they say it was influential in electing Barack Obama to the presidency of the United States.
He is Mark Elliot Zuckerberg; the toy he created that lays the golden eggs is Facebook; and he will be here in Brazil to give a lecture (to be transmitted via the web) and a workshop Tuesday, August 4th (see links below).
And what of it? What does this mean for him and for Facebook? And for the Brazilian Facebook users? If you don’t think this is very important, now’s the time to reconsider! After all, “what’s on your mind?” I say: welcome to the Brazilian Guide to Facebook!
- If you are interested in the lecture at the Entrepreneur Forum, at FGV in São Paulo (just for students): it will be transmitted via the web at 11am on Tuesday, August 4th, at this link;
- If you want to know about the Garage Day workshop, it is also in São Paulo on August 4th, from 5-7pm, only for pre-registered developers (it has been filled for days, but see more information here);
- If you are curious about the impact of the Facebook phenomenon, and want to think about how it will really affect the Brazilian market and your life, read on.

I was one of 30 people invited to participate Friday in a roundtable at Fiesp promoted by the Ministry of Culture, to launch the Brazilian Digital Culture Forum.
At this event, the social network culturadigita.br, which is focused on building collaboration in public policy, will no longer be restricted to invited testers (like myself), and will be opened to the public.
Participating in this conversation for the public launch of the social network will be the Minister of Culture himself, Sr. Juca Ferreira, and other government representatives. Interested persons can follow the discussion in real time, Friday, July 31st, at 3pm, at www.culturadigital.br/aovivo. Read more…
