There was a time when we had to depend on the mass media for coverage of events we couldn’t attend. Today the coverage is interactive and collaborative: participants comment live on the internet (Olivia Mitchell has published an interesting ebook about the use of backchannels like Twitter).
Some events, like Intercon, offer platforms to map, encourage and add value to content that the public shares, even calling on the public to write articles for an official collaborative book about the event. Others, like TEDxSP also have real-time coverage via Twitter. Read more…

As in the previous edition about Generation Y Startupi is providing content for the magazine ResultsON: Smart Business. This time the theme is “social media in business.” Instead of writing it myself, I’ve passed the opportunity to Gilberto Jr, director of SocialSmart (a business which is invested in Startupi). He will be speaking and writing on the theme, which he practices in daily life after all.
The event includes a series of talks and will take place starting at 4pm on Av. Juscelino Kubitschek. Participation is free - just sign up here. Check out the schedule.

It’s confirmed: the editor of TechCrunch, Sarah Lacy, will arrive in Brazil Saturday August 29th.
Since she wrote about her upcoming trip to Brazil, many people have been waiting for more details. Me, too. The São Paulo headquarters of Endeavor, an international organization Sarah is in touch with, confirmed that she is arriving Saturday and that there will be an event with her.
TechCrunch is one of the most recognized sites in the world of startups and the Internet. Active since 2005, it publishes articles about new web products and companies. It offers information and resources for entrepreneurs, and was one of the inspirations for Startupi.
