SiliconReef wins Challenge Brazil with green chip - and heads abroad

siliconreefBrazilian startup SiliconReef is headquartered in Recife, the capital of the state of Pernambuco, Brazil, and is now the winner of the business plan competition known as Challenge Brazil 2009 (sponsored by FGV/Intel Capital/Derraik Law Offices).

SiliconReef is prepared to produce and sell chips (integrated circuits) to improve the efficiency of equipment drawing on renewable sources of energy (green, or sustainable technology). The product, EH01, promises to improve efficiency in the energy generation and storage of wireless networks by up to 70%. Read more…

Desafio Brazil: investors provide mentoring to 16 semi-finalists and interested participants on Friday and Saturday

imagem11-300x45Brazilian angel investor associations coordinated with GVCepe and selected 16 businesses as semi-finalists in the 2009 Desafio Brasil (Challenge: Brazil 2009).  This Friday and Saturday they will participate in a mentoring event in São Paulo, sponsored by Intel and the law office of Derraik Advogados.

This is one more stage in the competition for new businesses focused on technology and innovation. The interested public is invited to participate in the event (which offers panels and workshops) in order to get to know the projects, the panelists and the investors!
