Brazilian developers, start your engines! It’s time to show your talent as a developer at the 2nd Yahoo! Open Hack Day, taking place March 20-21 in São Paulo, Brazil.
This is a Brazilian spin-off of the traditional Yahoo! Open Hack Day which originally took place on the Sunnyvale campus and now has versions in London, Bangalore, New York and Djakarta. Those who use the Internet are familiar with Flash, used to create rich media experiences in various sites, games, social apps, smartphones and touchscreen devices. Brazil has one of the largest communities of developers and experts for this product from Adobe (originally from MacroMedia). In fact, a Brazilian developer went to work for rich media shop EFM in San Diego, became the Interactive Director, and is now bringing an event to Brazil to further encourage adoption of the platform.
“The objective of Flash Camp Brazil is to showcase Adobe’s platform, which consists of Flash, Flex and AIR. There are a number of companies in Brazil developing great solutions; they will be attending the event, speaking along with international experts, and interacting with the audience.” Read more…

He is 25 years old, with a casual manner and enormous success: the idea he had turned into one of the most-used web services in the world, and they say it was influential in electing Barack Obama to the presidency of the United States.
He is Mark Elliot Zuckerberg; the toy he created that lays the golden eggs is Facebook; and he will be here in Brazil to give a lecture (to be transmitted via the web) and a workshop Tuesday, August 4th (see links below).
And what of it? What does this mean for him and for Facebook? And for the Brazilian Facebook users? If you don’t think this is very important, now’s the time to reconsider! After all, “what’s on your mind?” I say: welcome to the Brazilian Guide to Facebook!
- If you are interested in the lecture at the Entrepreneur Forum, at FGV in São Paulo (just for students): it will be transmitted via the web at 11am on Tuesday, August 4th, at this link;
- If you want to know about the Garage Day workshop, it is also in São Paulo on August 4th, from 5-7pm, only for pre-registered developers (it has been filled for days, but see more information here);
- If you are curious about the impact of the Facebook phenomenon, and want to think about how it will really affect the Brazilian market and your life, read on.

Hello, all! This weekend the iPhone Dev Camp was held in São Paulo, with an app developers course and various related lectures.
The photo is from the North American event, taken from the site.
It’s a good event. Tell me if you went, okay? And remember this coming week there will be a lecture on the web and a workshop in São Paulo with the founder of Facebook. Cheers!
