Nothing against constructive criticism, but no one can stand, for example, a Twitter stream full of complaints all day long. There has to be some contribution to society, not just whining.
One option is to reinforce that which is good. Featuring not things deserving of #fail, but those that have, do, or make something good. A program from Rio de Janeiro called Rede Jovem (”Youth Net”) won the prize at the Mobile Premier Awards in the category of Social Change. I learned about it during the most recent Mobile Monday in São Paulo. The project is notable for merging technology with a social cause.
The prize for the best use of mobile technology to promote social change was provided in partnership with MobileActive.org. The Rede Jovem program was the winner, out of 65 other applicants. Read more…

You know how things work in Brazil, in business, on the Internet, in interior parts of the nation, and in the minds of kids, right? You know where innovation comes from and how it follows and precedes changes in habits?
I don’t, thanks very much! I look at the big picture, sure, but I also try to keep an eye out for the overlooked things, something that might scale into a game changer.
