Eight startups competing in Latin Moot Corp this week

captura-de-tela-2010-03-08-as-105151Latin Moot Corp’s annual business plan competition is being held this week in São Paulo, Thursday through Saturday. The Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV) holds this competition as a preliminary round in advance of the global Moot Corp, which is held at the University of Texas.

Among the eight finalists one is Argentine, one North American and another from New Zealand. The panelists include investors (Confrapar, Adrenax, Direct Talk and others) as well as experts in various fields (including myself and representatives from Sebrae, Universia, Poli-USP, FGV and Fiesp). The presentations for each startup are available on AngelSoft, an online system for viewing the proposals and creating relationships between entrepreneurs and investors. Read more…

Ning challenges Brazilian developers

Remember Netweaving for Innovation’s trip in which TeiaMG representative Juliana Lima went to Silicon Valley? One of the fruits of this trip came from a conversation she had with the decision makers at Ning.com (a tool for social networks that supports OpenSocial).

Juliana told them about the trends in Brazil, and they decided to offer a Ning Developer Challenge in Brazil. Read more…

Of the 40, ten will be selected to appear in the Campus Party Labs panel of projects. All participants will get exposure, feedback and networking. Submissions are being taken until the 22nd! Mobile Premier Awards for mobile startups

Northeasterners prepare for another Startup Competition with FGV/Unifacs

capa-300x187There are now 174 participating members in the social network created around the FGV/Unifacs Startup Competition, which takes place in Salvador at the beginning of December.

This time, the teams are competing for a spot in the finals of the FGV Latin Moot Corp, which is one of the biggest entrepreneur competitions in Brazil (the winner represents Latin America at the Global Moot Corp® Competition in the USA). Read more…
