Sarah Lacy didn’t come, but Andrew Keen is here and wants to know about startups, too

imagem31-300x149The editor of TechCrunch, Sarah Lacy, announced she would come to Brazil as part of a Latin American tour (to write a book about entrepreneurship), but she wasn’t able to get her visa in time. She wrote a controversial post speaking ill of Brazil, and left open the possibility of coming in December or January.

We are sorry she didn’t make it here to share knowledge; both she and TechCrunch come with a certain reputation. We are also sorry that her cancellation had negative repercussions, which don’t mesh with the maturation of startup culture. But we celebrate the coming of so many other important foreigners from the Internet world. Today, a well-known author did speak in São Paulo; he’s said he’s interested in writing about our startups.
