Remember Netweaving for Innovation’s trip in which TeiaMG representative Juliana Lima went to Silicon Valley? One of the fruits of this trip came from a conversation she had with the decision makers at Ning.com (a tool for social networks that supports OpenSocial).

Those who use the Internet are familiar with Flash, used to create rich media experiences in various sites, games, social apps, smartphones and touchscreen devices. Brazil has one of the largest communities of developers and experts for this product from Adobe (originally from MacroMedia). In fact, a Brazilian developer went to work for rich media shop EFM in San Diego, became the Interactive Director, and is now bringing an event to Brazil to further encourage adoption of the platform.
“The objective of Flash Camp Brazil is to showcase Adobe’s platform, which consists of Flash, Flex and AIR. There are a number of companies in Brazil developing great solutions; they will be attending the event, speaking along with international experts, and interacting with the audience.” Read more…

With that in mind, though with some concern for issues of security and privacy, I decided to try out the web service Organizze. I am using it and I like it!
Organizze runs on secure http: “All the information is encrypted, just like at a banking site,” says Luiz Felipe Luz, one of the partners in the service. This means the app disguises numbers and letters, so they can only be read when the owner of them is logged in. Read more…

Despite this, most of humanity carries on in their cities, having at any moment - both collectively and individually - attitudes that have positive and negative effects in these areas. Besides making games and entertainment, and besides addressing the needs of end users and advertisers, developers of apps for cell phones can explore other business strategies.
One method is to sell applications to businesses and then provide them in a free version to end users. In some cases there is no interest in the number of downloads and installs, just a focus on the end user experience being the best possible one.
One example is the set of apps for iPhone and BlackBerry from MTM Tecnologia Mobile Solutions, a Brazilian startup that has an operational team in Salvador and business offices in São Paulo, the USA, Canada and France. Read more…
