Social Media is on the tip of the tongue in São Paulo and Rio

There are a couple of upcoming events in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro on the subject of social media: this month there will be an expert presenting on social networks at a college in Rio, and in the beginning of August a group of advertisers talking about blogs in São Paulo.
Sou+Web (RJ) - Another edition of the event Sou+Web is taking place in Rio de Janeiro on July 18th. This time, the theme will be social networks and the event will have as a moderator Caroline Haythornthwaite, professor of the Graduate School of Library and Information Sciences at the University of Illinois, in the United States. She is a researcher specializing in distributed knowledge, computer-mediated communications, and online communities. The event is being organized by the post-graduate program in Management in the Digital Marketing department at Hélio Alonsa College (Facha). It will be held from 10am- 1pm at Ibeu Copacabana and is free of charge. Pre-registration is required.
EBP 2009 (SP) - São Paulo will host another edition of the Bloggers and Advertisers Meeting. The object of this event is to bring together the key bloggers and advertisers in the country to discuss recent trends in the communications market and on the internet. Marcelo Tas, presenter of CQC, has confirmed he is participating. According to the information provided, all 200 slots have been filled, but this Tuesday there will be an update on the website as to whether there are any last minute openings. The event will take place at Faap, from 8:30am to 7pm, August 8, 2009.
