A Brazilian business group has just returned from a mission to New York, in the US. The group went to get to know the North American market for web apps during the Web2Expo conference. They brought their experiences, partnerships, prospects and business opportunities, and gained important contacts with American investors.

The mission was organized by Riosoft with support from the Softex’s Project PSI.SW, sponsored by APEX. From the 16-20 of November the group visited businesses in New York, met with investors, met with other businesses that offer internet solutions and participated in networking events, besides attending Web2Expo.

“The intention was to provide the participants with the opportunity to get to know how American businesses work and to provide contacts,” explained the organizer for international affairs at Riosoft, Alberto Blois. “The meetings were highly anticipated by the participants and gave confidence that the Brazilian businesses have the excellent technical foundations and international caliber solutions.”

The North American Michael Nicklas, director of Startupi via SocialSmart, was impressed with the quality of the Brazilian teams and presented them to some of his contacts. “I think this type of event is essential for creating a network among entrepreneurs, executives and investors, which, at the end of the day, is the real power behind successfully growing businesses.”

In each location the group participated in discussions about projects, opportunities and the desire for partnerships between Americans and Brazilians, making this mission a step in the global outreach of Brazilian internet businesses interested in the US market.
